Thanks VERY much for sticking this post here. I was very, very irked when it was erased. Though I totally understand the metafilter mods' reasons for not having a giggle-and-point cache of dodgy posts & how it destroys the point of dumping them in the first place.
Still, there are times when one STARTS reading one, goes away vaguely thinking "ooh, that'll be interesting later/wonder if anyone's said anything brilliant" - and returns to find it gone, checks metatalk - nothing - and one feels inwardly raging, frankly.
So thanks for this "service" because it has just been used with gratitude. (Thought I'd make an appreciative comment, since there appear to be few.)
